Was it easier to have added time with him and time to "prepare" (if there is any such thing) for the end, but watch him deteriorate as cancer ravaged his body? Or would something quick and unexpected have been easier? I have come to the conclusion that, as you said, loss is loss and the two scenarios are BOTH devastatingly hard in their own rights. You are not alone in your ponderings, or the guilt and feelings that sometimes accompany those thoughts. I love you, my friend.
